Heeltoe's "Discontinued" Product Status: What it means and why we have it

The Heeltoe website has a great function that allows us to show you items that are discontinued.

You may be wondering, what does it mean when a part is "Discontinued?" Discontinued products are those that are no longer being made and there are no plans for the manufacturer to make them any more. The part is done and dead. If there were molds needed to make parts they likely have been destroyed. If you want a discontinued part you will need to find one in old stock somewhere or obtain one on the second-hand market.

Side note: No, the 2006-08 TSX Mugen Grille is NOT discontinued.

So why does Heeltoe list parts that you can't buy? Well, there are a few reasons.

Firstly, it seems dumb to undo work we did posting the part online. It is hard enough listing all the parts we have access to onto the store for sale. Why would we take them down after they go out of production? Besides, it's better to show you that the part exists but we just can't get it new any longer, we believe.

Secondly, it's because people will oftentimes find themselves lusting after a part that is discontinued. It's always so heartbreaking to tell them they we can't fill their wishes. We find it a little gentler and more affirmative for the person to see it in the store.

A third reason is certainly not the least important one. It's because we respect the parts that much. Pulling it down and off the site totally discredits the fact that many people still love and want that old Mugen FG360 steering wheel or an accessory armrest for an EF hatchbach. We don't currently have those specific parts listed, but we aspire to show those parts just like we do live parts like TLX spare tire kits and the brand new Mugen steering wheels. Besides, we think showing our knowledge for these parts gives us credibility.

Connecting to the initial statement opening this post regarding the TSX Mugen grille: It was brought to our attention this part was listed as discontinued on the Heeltoe site when in fact it is not. So this correction has been made, and we are very sorry for any confusion it may have caused anyone!

If you see a part on our site that is available to order but you know it is discontinued (or vice versa) let us know and we'll make the corrections!
