Tein's Street Advance Z (SAZ) compared to the FLEX Z: Full Compare & Contrast

Amoung all the suspension kits Heeltoe's Honda and Acura drivers love, the Tein SAZ and Flex Z duo outsell them all combined. The reason is because of a longstanding trust in the brand based on quality, performance, reliability, and history. Both are similar in how they are designed and function, but it is the "Pros" of each that might make you a buyer of one more than the other.

The SAZ customer will value the lower price, slightly more compliant springs and valving, and the lowering range being narrow around the 1.5" to 2.0" range below stock.

The Flex Z customer will gladly pay a little more to get the included upper mount kit (which is pre-assembled), greater height range that allows lowering from with 1.0" of stock all the way down to 3.0" or more (depending on the specific car), and the slightly better overall performance available from adjustable preload.

This video covers topics that people really want to know about, including:

  • Why does the Flex Z lower more than the SAZ?
  • What is preload, and when and how do I set it?
  • Which one rides better?
  • Which one has more performance?
  • What are upper mounts or top hats?
  • Can I get upper mounts with the SAZ?
  • Howcome my upper mounts don't have camber adjustment?
  • Are Teins made in China or Japan, and does that even matter?
  • And lots more info.

The video showcases a popular Acura application but what is said here is pretty universal in truth overall. Here are some timestamps for your reference:
