Ultra S Crank Pulleys Standard Belt Layout (Underdrive)

Our most popular crank pulleys, the ones everyone is familiar with. This version of our crank pulleys increases performance because they underdrive all the accessories (15-20% more power), unlike accessory only kits out there that do not include the crank pulley. This means one you air conditioning is on our crank pulleys give you more power back to the wheels by not letting the air conditioning compressor rob as much power

However, we do not push the amount or percentage of underdrive too far for two main reasons. First, it is important to keep charging systems, air conditioning, power steering, and water pumps moving fast enough for every day driving. Second, not much horsepower is gained from extreme underdriving. We always keep our underdrive percentage under 20% which is what allows us to maintain factory specified outputs for all your accessories. Our testing has found for most vehicle models you can upgrade your stereo to a system of up to 600 watts (RMS) and not have any charging problems.

For most applications all of the underdriving is done at the crank pulley, not the accessory pulleys. This is done so maximum weight loss can be achieved at the crank where most of the horsepower gains are realized. The Ultra Series underdrive crank pulleys are available in polished aluminum finish.

    Customer Questions

About how much more of a gain could I see from installing this one over the lightweight stock diameter?

The power difference is going to be minimal between these two parts. Ultimately, if you are building a high performance engine, you will want the underdrive part. If it is a casual upgrade or you plan on supercharger, it can be more convenient to simply do an OEM pulley to keep the standard belt length.

Will this also fit my 2015 Honda Accord v6 sedan?

    Yes, it will.

will this fit my 2006 acura tl?

Yes, it will fit all single exhaust port J-series engines, just like the J32A3 in your 2004-08 Acura TL.

Q:Does this effect crankshaft harmonics? Some pulleys have been show to wear thrust bearings over time, will this happen on this application?

Not any impact to be concerned about on this engine. Thrust bearing wear has more to do with heavy clutches than harmonic dampening. We've seen no evidence of elevated wear on modern Honda engines related to aluminum pulleys.

Q:I have 2003 Cl type s, does this pulley work with my vehicle?

No, for your earlier J32A2 CL Type-S, you will want this pulley instead: XLR8 Performance Stock Diameter crankhaft Pulley, J30/J32 1st generation J-Series (J32A2)

Q:Does this work with stock belt size/layout?

The stock belt layout is the same but a shorter belt is required due to the smaller pulley diameter.
