Details

When the K24Z3 was first introduced, many people were disappointed with the integrated exhaust manifold that made conventional headers obsolete. This is especially true since the K-Series platform produced some very impressive performance gains with quality headers. When you look at the OE converter, you can easily tell it was designed to be made cheaply and mass produced. The components are stamped and welded with no consideration for turbulence or restrictions. This, combined with a secondary catalytic converter, causes the exhaust to be restricted, robbing significant power.

The RV6 I4 Precat delete (PCD) and High Flow Pre Cat (HFPC) for 08+ Accord and 09+ TSX equipped with the K24Z3 engine. The RV6 I4 Precat delete replaces the highly restrictive O.E precat with a free flowing contoured casting and 2.5ö tubing. The entire assembly is made of high quality 304 stainless steel and a TIG welded by master welders.

Estimated gains are around 15WHP+ and 10WTQ+. Also offered is a test pipe and high flow cat to replace the 2nd cat which will yield even more horse power.

Specs:
- 304 Stainless cast flange sections
- 304 Stainless 2.5ö tubing
- TIG welded
- Argon back gassed for pure welds

Includes:
All necessary hardware for installation

RV6 will warranty the castings a welding for 24 months.

Intended FOR OFF ROAD USE ONLY.

Customer Questions

Q:

hi, im a bit confused as to if this product is a header or if it connected to the stock headers?

A:

This is the"header." It bolts the vehicle's cylinder head to extract exhaust gas from the engine. However it has a single-bellmouth opening which has people calling it a "downpipe." Technically a downpipe is the exhaust pipe coming off a turbo.

You are justifiably confused...but this is a "header."

Q:

Are 02 bung 90's that come with this the defoulers or just an extension for clearance?

A:

They are defoulers, and they are angled for clearance. So the answer to your question is: Both!

Q:

Will this mess with emissions in California?

A:

This part is not legal for road use in any state, including California.

Q:The estimated gains for the PCD state 15WHP+ and 10WTQ+. Are these estimates with or without a tune?
A:

These estimates would be without a tune. Keep in mind that while tuning will almost always help the engine make more power, items such as cat deletes are not really "tune dependent."

Q:so if this is an illegal part, how would we pass emissions if buying this with the downpipe?
A:

Passing emissions testing is purely based on the local testing requirements, and the diligence of the inspector.

Q:so basically, we should get the skunk2 because this is an "illegal" part?
A:

The Skunk2 is an off-road "illegal" part as well. Anything that deletes or changes out the cats is not legal for road use.

Q:Can this header connect with the stock catalytic converter?
A:

This pipe does connect to the factory converter under the car. The upper converter is deleted.

Q:Will this give a check engine light? Planning to keep the 2nd cat. Also can this paired with the Endless RPM Catback exhaust?
A:A check engine light can occur with this part although it does come with a provision to keep the light off in most all cases. The second converter will not change this.
Q:Does this delete the cats?
A:Yes it does.
Q:Will this downpipe/ header give any check engine light on a 2012 tsx
A:Not usually, no. These parts come with a provision to keep off the light.

Very well manufactured. Definitely one of the best bang for your buck mods that really improves horsepower as well as torque. Only downside is it can throw a CEL but this can be mitigated if you plan on getting the Hondata Flash pro and tuning. In which case I intend on doing.

Its a nice parts and was a easy install as long as the secondary cat it connects to you can get the nuts broken loose. Only complaint is it should come with nuts and bolts just encase you have to cut the studs off the converter to get them apart.
