Heeltoe is known the world over for providing great advice and support for automotive enthusiasts in seek of better performance. Imagine our pride when we were contacted by Shea Holbrook from Shea Racing in Groveland, FL for help with their all-new 2016 Honda Accord racing effort.

At first, she just wanted to buy some parts. But Shea immediately recognized Heeltoe as a great one-stop shop for their 45-day, 2-car build. Time was tight but Heeltoe had to access everything the team needed to get on track. It was a challenge we were excited to rise to, and so Heeltoe has sponsored Shea Racing as their official Performance Parts Supplier for 2016!

Shea needed a J-pipe, cat deletes, a rear sway bar, a clutch, and a tuning option for two 2016 Honda Accord Coupes that are being campaigned in the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) racing series this year. They are both competing in Touring Class (TC). Both cars are 6-speed V6 models for which Heeltoe was able to provide the top-level service and consultation we are famous for.

Work begun on the Accords only last month. Immediately, they were completely torn down for safety cages and other chassis fab and finishing.

An ATLP V2-R J-pipe was selected for its strong mid-range power-band, 3rd cat delete, and large 3" collector. Paired with some RV6 PCD's, the ATLP V2-R J-pipe is expected to give great pull out of fast corners and superior top-speed.

For the sway bar, options are limited. But Progress Group makes a fantastic unit that was a straight-bolt on. We'd like to develop more racing-style bars for the Accord, but getting some on-track feedback on this production 22mm bar would be invaluable to our road customers. It is the perfect compliment to the SPC/Eibach suspension parts fitted to the Accord. Rounding out the suspension is a very custom set of Koni dampers. The suspension system is going to give Shea Racing great handling at the track.

When it came to a clutch, Heeltoe was able to make a case for a completely custom multi-disc unit from Tilton built for us by AASCO. By working with Shea Racing and getting their specific power goals, we matched a set of plates and springs to give the right amount of hold without over-stressing the thrust bearings, or Shea's left leg. Combined with a custom billet aluminum flywheel, this package has everything a racer could want. Low rotational inertia, low overall mass, and ability to rebuild in the pits combine to make Heeltoe's recommendation a no-brainer.

For tuning, there was a debate between a KTuner End-User Flash tool and a Hondata FlashPro. Given the known compatibility with a 2016 ECU, the KTuner was selected to dial-in the fuel and timing maps (Hondata Flashpro is expected to support the 2016 ECU soon, but not in time for us).

Heeltoe has always been happy to support racing efforts. We believe that competition improves the breed, and that parts that do well on the track often allow us to support our road customers all that much better. Shea Holbrook is an ideal brand ambassador for Heeltoe, and we are looking forward to a fun and exciting 2016 in support of Shea Racing in PWC events!
