The philosophy behind vehicle maintenance is the preserve the good function and reliability of your car for the duration of your ownership. Good maintenance is a necessary means of protecting the investment that is responsible for your daily transportation. Automotive manufacturers prescribe recommended maintenance items at predetermined intervals for both miles and time put into the components, usually with standard and extreme condition scenarios.
In the interest if reducing costs, manufacturers are enabled by technological advancements to truncate maintenance down to a bare-minimum. Heeltoe has found that the most recent service recommendations from manufacturers have become extended to the point of a fault to the car. Spark plugs which will last well over 100,000 miles are found to become inferior in operation as low as 60,000 miles. Oil changes every 5,000 miles are recommended however filter replacement is dictated every 10,000 miles. And transmission fluids are scarcely recommended to be changed at any point before 100,000 miles. Brake fluid, every 3 years when water contamination sets in well before this point resulting in a squishy brake pedal.
Heeltoe knows that the majority of technicians and car enthusiasts prefer to change maintenance items more frequently than these factory recommendations. This is we have developed an "HT-Spec Maintenance Program" encouraging more frequent changes in vital lubricants and components. The HT-Spec maintenance program is more encompassing than the oem one, more simple to follow, more thoroughly addresses concerns of the daily driver, and is guaranteed to make your car drive better for the duration of your ownership. You can read more about this maintenance program in the Pitboard Blog.
