Inner axle joint wear is notorious for causing a vibration on acceleration. This problem plagues the Acura TSX like no other Honda we've seen. Replacement axles usually are of poor quality and fail to resolve the issue. We've seen on our own HTSpec TSX an inner joint replacement make all the difference in clearing up vibrations.

NOTE: This joint must be replaced on a factory axle. If you've already replaced your axle with an aftermarket new or remanufactured unit it cannot be guaranteed to fit or work properly.

In order to install the new boot bands, you will need a tool to tighten them properly. We have provided a convenient link to the tool here: Amazon.com

I bought a 2004 6MT TSX with 118,000 miles which had a shake at about 40 and 60 mph (only when accelerating). Based on research, I figured it was a bad axle. I had the axles rebuilt at a local shop, (reused all parts except boots and new grease). This didn't fix the problem so they put aftermarket axles made by Cardone on. This fixed the 40 and 60 mph shakes but created a new 20 mph shake. My understanding (now) is that TSX's do not work well with aftermarket axles because they are slightly longer than OEM. OEM axles are the only fix and thanks to HT this rebuild kit is a much cheaper way to go. HT told me is was most likely only the right side that was bad, but since my shop was rebuilding it for free I didn't want to take a chance so I purchased both sides. HT was right, it was only the right (passenger USA) . But I went ahead and replaced both while it was easy to do so.

Problem solved. The shakes are gone. I'm convinced after hours on the TSX forums that this is the best and cheapest solution that actually works. Don't waste your time on aftermarket. Just buy this. Apparently this is a common problem with the TSX and it is often mis diagnosed. When I took it to a Honda dealer for a prepurchase inspection they insisted it was tires. I'm pretty sure the previous owner probably sold the car because he couldn't figure out what the problem was. It was well taken care of and very clean. Easy fix and pretty cheap considering I knocked $500 off the dealers already fair price for it.

HT customer service was top notch. They took the time to answer all of my questions and as I said they actually told me that I probably didnt need to buy both sets. I really appreciate that and highly recommend HT and this kit to anyone with the shakes.

Vibration on acceleration is an issue that has plagued the 04-08 TSX for many years now, with no good solution having been found to date. Heeltoe is proud to announce we have fixed this issue in our HTSpec TSX!
