Alright fellas just wanna give some input on this ATLP Base exhaust with resonator...
I was on the list of the recent group buy of ATLP base exhaust, the wait was a bit lengthy but well worth the wait.(Thanks Marcus) FedEx delivered it yesterday morning 3/2/2010 and I just finish installing it about 2 hours ago. Out of the box the welds and craftsmanship is second to none...EXCELLENT! Very purdy exhaust, Fitment is 10/10. I couldn't wait till the weekend so I dropped off my babies at daycare early and return home for the install.
It took me 10mins to take the stock exhaust off and 25-30mins to put the ATLP exhaust in reason being I only had one hydralic jack and it only lifted the car just high enough to use elbow grease (couldn't extend arms at all). Took my time cause I didn't want to scratch my new toy lol. All in all the install took no more than 45mins by one person. Did all this while wearing my SCRUBS (work clothes) and didn't even get DIRTY except my hands.
All done washed hands ready for work....started up the car vrrroooom very very low and deep tone, a second later car sounded STOCK, No DRONE at all didn't even sound like I have aftermarket exhaust untill I blip the throttle... Excellerating from 1k to 2.5k there slight to very very little drone but very very TOLERABLE, above 2.6k and above drone is basically non existant, BUTT dyno is wow! the car pushes forward very smoothly and linear without the loud fart cannon noise! I likes it I likes it alot.
I also notice at 60-65mph I can't put it into 6th gear or else my rpm drops to 2k or under where the very tolerable yet SLIGHT DRONE IS. 5th gear is around 2.8k rpms at 65mph, sounds stock still no drone. I have my stock radio on level 5! and can still hear my music clearly! I've yet to go WOT because I forgot to tighten 1 screw or bolt near the race pipe.
This is exactly what I've wanted and would definately recommend this exhaust ATLP with RESONATOR for the older folks with KIDS AND BABIES whom want more power smooth,subtle sound,without the noise and drone issues. But I would not recommend this for the YOUNGER kats...you know you want it LOUD. You can't go wrong either way(Resonator or Non Res) both very nice deep aggressive sound. Sorry car is dirteee!
