The Acura TSX, released in the USA in 2004, is derived from the global Accord platform sold worldwide. The VIN number tells us the chassis code for the TSX is a CL9, but in truth any K24A4 2.4L TSX or Accord outside the US market is a CL9. The global market Accord is available in a wide variety of trim levels in both 2.4L and 2.0L forms. Accords with a K20A 2.0L in the model year 2003-2008 are given a CL7 designation. This includes the veritable Accord EuroR, which was a factory hopped-up version. The EuroR model has a high performance engine shared with the DC5 Integra and EP3 Civic. The smaller engine K20A size was used in the CL7 despite the extra weight from the chassis, although it was tuned to make similar power as the K24A4. Special boddy cladding, emblems, and color differentiated it from pedestrian Accords. Heeltoe Automotive has always had a passion for global market Accords, and likewise the USDM Acura TSX.
